Palladino played with Juventus in Serie B in the brazil shirt 2006-2007 season. He was put in the starting line-up after David Trezeguet and Pavel Nedvěd were suspended and Marcelo Zalayeta and Alessandro Del Piero injured. He became internationally known for his participation in the 1982 FIFA World Cup, when he played as a left winger in all five matches of the Brazil national team and scored two of the best goals of the World Cup. National coach Otto Rehhagel took Karagounis to the 2010 World Cup two years later. There, as captain, he and his teammates won a World Cup match for the first time in the history of the Greek team: a 2-1 victory over Nigeria. The referee did not see the incident and it was probably the first time in history that a decision was made through the referee's "earpiece". For him it was the first of more than ninety international matches with which he eventually wrote history at the 2010 World Cup. He signed a one-year contract with the English Fulham FC in September 2012, after previously playing for Panathinaikos FC, Inter Milan and SL Benfica, among others.

In 1937/38 the club took revenge on Marseille and won the league title by two points.
